PapVision – perfecting print quality

Automate your quality control – improve the realibility and precision of your measurements

PapVision is a measuring station that utilises robotics and machine vision to automatically evaluate quality aspects related to paper printability. The automated system reduces measuring variations and improves precision. Compared to quality control that relies on the human eye, the system also accelerates the process.

The results obtained from the measurements can be utilized by other automation and quality control systems in the mill. This allows quality control data to be shared throughout the organization and to be evaluated easily. The measuring parameters are adjustable and can be selected from the user interface. The graphical PapVision user interface runs on the Windows operating system. All the measurement modules are maintained by a single supplier.

PapSurface topography measurements

Surface topography is a height map, which describes the surface shape, like peaks, valleys, pits and spikes. PapSurface meters provide surface topography in a non-contact and fast manner using shading information in images. In the online measurement, the measured phenomena are from micrometers to centimeters at web speeds up to 2000 m/min.
